“One snag I am dealing with is that the Parasite Recovery is powerful and I must have quite a load. After I had the air hunger again and palpitations, (I) started slowly with PR, then ended up at 2 twice per day. Got very sick, your electrolytes comment helped, and my MD agreed and added Standard Process B complex and calcium lactate. He thought maybe I could go back on Mepron again and Azithromycin.
I don't recommend patients change a treatment that is working, especially if the change is to antibiotics. RMM
“I've never been able to effectively eliminate biotoxins or neurotoxins. Any other ideas besides clay? I've been taking that, but it doesn't seem to be enough.” Try the butyrate, maybe you can get an Rx for cholestyramine. Remember to avoid taking any supplements with clay as it may bind the active ingredients making them unavailable to your blood. Saunas are important for you, see the blurb on saunas on the site. Be sure to take Enhance Glutathione to ‘neutralize’ the toxins before they impact your nervous system. RMM
“Since I have cut down on the Lyme Recovery and the Enhance the Heart, I have notices some of the symptoms returning. Is this normal? In the past 6 weeks I have wakened 5 times at night with
Most docs treating LD feel one should be symptom free, or near Let me know if this isn't clear. RMM
“If I take enhance gluthathione 2 tabs 2x/day will it screw up my sleep cycle due to melatonin?” No one has complained of that and I have taken 3 at a time without problems. I would suggest taking it before bed initially. RMM
“Is there any caffeine in the formulas”
Absolutely none. RMM
‘I just placed an order and am wondering if directions for taking the formulas comes with them.’ Each order comes with a handout which includes suggested dosages for each supplement from Lyme-Aid Formulations. Understand these are only guidelines and your optimal dosages may differ from my suggestions. RMM
“I just ordered more of this supplement (Lyme Recovery) so I continue to take it into January. I am planning on repeating the Western Blot test in January...to see where I stand. I wanted to get your insight on what effect the supplement might have on the test so that I recognize if something would throw off the result or enhance them or what.”
I don't know of any of the herbs in Lyme Recovery falsely altering the WB for Lyme. What one would want to see on the WB is a conversion to IgG positive if previously the test had been IgM positive, IgG negative, and you had symptoms for more than a year. Also, if the CD 57 was less than 60 it should be retested. Having a higher CD 57 will change the immunological response and therefore the antibody levels. Having your antibodies go up is not necessarily a bad thing as it may just mean that your immune system is responding better to the infection, this is especially true if your symptoms have improved. ‘You mention pulsing on your site. Perhaps I am not understanding Pulsing; Going from your basic daily, just below Herx, dosage to 30-50% more per day for 5-7 days. This will probably bring on a mild Herx. Pulsing can be done every 3-4 weeks depending on how you are feeling. An example is; if you are taking 6 Lyme Recovery pills 3 times a day, pulsing would be to increase to 8-9 pills 3 times a day for 5-7 days then return to 6 pills 3 times per day. RMM
“Are the herbs in your formulas organic” When possible the herbs are either wild-harvested or organic. Unfortunately herbs from China or India are difficult to get from an organic source without going to the grower. I believe it is better to rid one’s self of pathogens like Borrelia and Babesia and deal with any small amount of “impurities”, that may have been taken in, later. RMM
“In recent months I’ve decided this must be Lyme and will have Igenex test soon, but meanwhile have begun your Lyme Recovery.
It is best to stop any agent that is suspected of making you worse to see if you are reacting to anything in the product. This is, of course, assuming you have ruled out a Herx. A reaction to a substance often presents with new symptoms while a Herx is usually a worsening of the symptoms being treated. If the symptoms clear quickly it may be a reaction to a product. The rest of the test is to begin the product again, at half dose to avoid a Herx, and look for a return of the symptoms. RMM
Recently I have been experiencing odd symptoms after taking Minocycline, but my Dr wants to now switch me to Biaxin.
Biaxin may be a better choice for you as it can be affective in treating Bb and is a different class of antibiotic. As you may be aware, it is good to change up the antibiotics. Yes, you can take LR with the antibiotics as the herbs have beneficial affects other than 'killing' Bb that will help you deal with the 'die-off' symptoms from taking the antibiotics. The caution is, pay attention to the compounded 'killing' affect of the antibiotic and the herbs in LR. You may need to back-off the antibiotic or the LR if you get too much of a Herx. Be sure to get your blood levels of glutathione up during a Herx. Take Enhance Glutathione and or get IV glutathione. RMM
"I recently purchased your Lyme Aid products to treat my Bartonella and Lyme and Babesia. It says on your label to take away from food. My question is how far away from food, can I take it like 45 minutes or 30 minutes before a meal? Like your product, it got really good review from a practitioner friend of mine" Herbs work best on an empty stomach but will work, although a % less, if taken with or close to a meal. Usually 30 minutes before or 3 hours after a meal is considered an 'empty stomach'.RMM
"I have some concern about the set amount of Cat's Claw in the Lyme Aid formula. I have a 15 year old daughter with signs of Chronic Lyme. She has been treated twice with antibiotics and has relapsed both times. From what I have read about the drug, at least in liquid form, it is best to start slow with 1=2 drops to see how it is tolerated. I don't know how to calculate the amount of Cat's Claw in the formula as compared to the drops. Can you let me know what the ratio is and whether the amount you suggest is likely to be tolerated by a young girl, 5' 8", 145 lbs? We will likely be ordering several of the formulas, as my husband is also very likely infected. He has had Lyme three times and is now showing some heart symptoms. We live in CT and PA. Thanks for your help and for all the good research you have done."
Cat's Claw, Uncaria, liquid extracts come in several strengths. this is represented as anything from a 2:1 - 8:1 concentrate. This makes it difficult to tell you a raw plant equivalent. What I can tell you is that many children have taken the formula and only one problem was reported to me. A nine year old boy developed a rash, probably from the Andrographis. It resolved quickly after stopping the formula and starting with a lower dosage. A 145# girl child can be considered to be an adult, in terms of medication dosing. Starting her at 2-3 caps 2 times a day would be my suggestion. Good luck with treating your family.
